Our business was founded as Katz Group in 1991. The Company’s history has been defined by the bold and long-term vision of its Founder, Daryl Katz, for building great businesses in pharmacy, sports, entertainment, real estate, hospitality and retail. OEG Inc. is a North American leader in sports and entertainment, retail cannabis and hospitality.

1991

Purchases the Canadian franchise rights to Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy for $300,000

1994-1999

Acquires Rexall, PharmaPlus, and Drug Trading Co. which included the Guardian and I.D.A banners

2008

Acquires the Edmonton Oilers and the Edmonton Oil Kings

2010

Begins assembling a 25-acre parcel of contiguous real estate in downtown Edmonton

2012

Unveils plan for ICE District, which would become North America’s second largest mixed-use sports and entertainment district

Sells independent franchise pharmacy business (IDA and Guardian) to McKesson Corp. for C$0.9 billion

2014

Acquires Bakersfield Condors

Partners with the City of Edmonton to develop Rogers Place, an award-winning, world-class sports and entertainment venue

Begins construction of ICE District Phase 1

2015

Acquires interest in Oliver & Bonacini, a leading Canadian restaurant, hospitality and event group

2016

Sells Rexall Health to McKesson Corp. in a transaction valued at C$2.9 billion

Opens Rogers Place

Acquires majority interest in Oliver & Bonacini

Sells Edmonton Tower to AIMCo in a transaction valued at C$400 million

Oliver & Bonacini acquires Concorde Entertainment Group
